Loop Lounge Chair

In response to the invitation of the historic company Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, India Mahdavi conceived the LOOP product family, lounge chair and banquette, which has the charm of a handmade design and benefits from their ancestral know-how: “Gebrüder Thonet Vienna it is the only manufacturing company in the world that allows you to translate a freehand drawing giving it a wooden materiality of that quality”.

However, in this exercise, India did not lift the pencil, which instead remained faithful to the movement. The leitmotif of the Loop collection materializes the frame in space and wraps around itself before following its path, leaving two folded "loops" in its wake. Her seductive curls push the limits of the possible: India asks the wood to redouble its efforts to amplify its beauty and roundness. India offers a color palette in the form of false friends: colors that clash because they are similar but not identical. The Loop has come full circle.
